Dannielle & Steven's Real Life Wedding Ideas

Dannielle & Steven - Summer Wedding

They chose Gaynes Park because when they visited they just 'knew'. "It was perfect for what we wanted and had the orangery for the ceremony and the barn for the wedding breakfast. Along with the stunning grounds - the walled garden in particular for the canapé reception and photos. The honeymoon cottage was an added bonus and rounded our wedding day off perfectly. The team of staff at the venue and the Galloping Gourmet caterers were absolutely fantastic and catered for our every idea and need. They not only did an excellent job in all catering aspects, but their attention to detail and their organisational skills, along with making sure that the day ran smoothly meant that it was not only the guests that enjoyed a relaxed day but us too!"

Dannielle had 2 bridesmaids who wore Dessy dresses imported from America. The dresses were tea length in jewel green and very up to the minute with Vera Wang style hemlines (puff effect). Their young daughter was a flower girl and wore an ivory dress.

Steven wore a formal suit with charcoal grey three quarter length jackets, charcoal grey striped trousers, white shirt, ivory waistcoat and ivory cravat and hankerchief. The best man and ushers wore exactly the same, but had specially made cravats and hankerchiefs in jewel green to match the bridesmaids. Their young son was a pageboy and had an outfit to match the ushers.

Both Dannielle's dress and accessories were ivory. Her dress was silk and very summery in both look and feel. It was made in Paris and was a very fitted bustier style that fitted tightly over the waist and down to the hips and then gathered in on one side, with a flower and flared out with lots of material to the floor. Dannielle added a petticoat for more fullness for the ceremony and photos. Dannielle wore a matching tiara and necklace.

Dannielle had a posy of roses in ivory, blush and pale pink with ivory pearls intermingled and the bridesmaids had a smaller posy of ivory roses. The roses were intermingled with sprigs of rosemary. Their florist wrapped the stems of the bouquets in material from their dresses (off cuts from the alterations) and studded them with pearls so that the posies not only matched the dresses but also photographed well.

All in all there were no major problems. "The wedding was organised in just over 5 months, so was very hectic, but achievable. It was tight for time for the bridal and bridesmaids dresses and having the ushers accessories made and there were some wedding dresses that I couldn't have."
