Lucy and Aaron met at university and quickly discovered that they were made for each other.
The Wedding & Reception Venue
Lucy knew that she wanted a spring wedding with LOTS of flowers and Gaynes Park was the perfect location for the couple. “We fell in love with Gaynes Park as soon as we saw it. It was the first venue we viewed and nothing else compared. We actually booked almost 20 months before our wedding date so we had plenty of planning time!” “The grounds and the buildings are beautiful and very well maintained but the deciding factor for us was The Coach House . We loved the idea of having breakfast with our families the following morning to catch up and reminisce about the big day.”
Bridesmaids
Every bride needs her bridesmaids by her side on the big day and Lucy chose her three best friends as bridesmaids and her younger sister, Annie, as Maid of Honour. “The girls had very simple, elegant floor-length dresses in sage green. I wanted them all to have the same colour and length but wasn’t at all fussed about the neckline – it was more important to me that they felt special on the day.”

“We visited a couple of shops and the girls tried on different styles. As it turned out, the dress we picked only came in one style so they ended up wearing the same and all looked beautiful.”
The Men
Aaron and the groomsmen wore suits from Jack Bunneys. Aaron opted for a bespoke suit, made in dark grey navy with a grey tweed waistcoat. The groomsmen and Lucy’s Dad chose dark grey suits and finished their look with waistcoats that matched the groom’s.

Dress, Accessories & Flowers
When Lucy started the search for ‘the dress’, it wasn’t very successful – until her Mum came to the rescue. “I’d been to numerous bridal boutiques in London with my Mum but couldn’t find anything that felt like ‘the one’ until my Mum found, what would turn out to be, my wedding dress online!” “It was a Maggie Sottero dress from the 2017 Spring/Summer collection but it wasn’t on sale at that point! I had to track down a shop that could borrow a sample from the designer for me to try on. Luckily, I loved it and finally got ‘that’ feeling”. Lucy and Aaron’s spring wedding had a definite rural romance theme and they wanted lots of pastel coloured flowers throughout the venue. “The flowers were such an important part of the day for me and I was apprehensive to see if they would be all that I had imagined. But, when my bouquet arrived in the morning, I knew that my florist , Megan at The Willows, had understood exactly what I’d asked. All of our wedding flowers were absolutely stunning.”

The Decorative Touches
Alongside the gorgeous spring flowers, Lucy and Aaron added in lots of little touches to make their wedding a truly personal occasion. “Gaynes Park is such a beautiful venue that you don’t need much to accentuate this. We added candles to create the ambience we wanted and we had Limoncello as favours because who doesn’t want more alcohol at a wedding?!” “For the children, we made up personalised goody bags filled with toys and books. Since it was Easter, we had an Easter egg hunt for the young ones and outside games to keep them entertained. In our view, if the children are happy, the parents are happy and that was our aim for the day – for our guests to have fun!”

The Honeymoon
Aaron is a teacher and the couple was keen to marry during the summer holidays so that they could fit in an immediate honeymoon. “We went to Antigua for our honeymoon which was amazing! After all the craziness in the lead up to the wedding, it was really nice to go somewhere where you just have to relax. We visited lots of beautiful beaches, ate delicious fresh food and relaxed in the sunshine.”
Wedding Planning Tip
“Before the day, allocate jobs to the appropriate people and plan your timings and logistics. This will make the day run much more smoothly and it will allow you to truly relax.” “Try to enjoy the entire planning process as much as the day itself – it’s an excuse to do lots of nice things with your family and friends that you wouldn’t ordinarily do. Make sure that you take time throughout the day to really appreciate everything. It’s honestly the best of your life so enjoy every second!”
